Pete's life verse is Philippians 4:8. "Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable,

whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence,

if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things."

John has been a member of Manahawkin Baptist Church since 2015.

John's life verse is James 5:7-8 "Be patient, therefore, brothers, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient about it, until it receives the early and the late rains. You also, be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand."

My family and I began attending MBC in 2007 after moving to the area.  We have enjoyed raising our children in the loving and nurturing environment that exists within MBC.  God's church is made of people, not programs or buildings, and the relationships we have made while serving alongside people here at MBC have been a blessing to me and my family.  It has been my pleasure to serve on the elder board as well as to be a part of some of the short term missions over the past 16 years, and children's ministry.

There are no great strong men of God, only weak men with a great God. “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.” Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me.” 2 Corinthians 12:9.

God, in His great mercy, opened my heart to the gospel at a young age.

Years later He has brought me into a position of leadership here at MBC. My prayer is that

I will serve Him well, leading with love, and helping others to come to Christ and to grow in faith. I also pray that we will join together at MBC and work towards what is valuable in Jesus sight.

Tom Coughlin

Hello, my name is Tom Coughin and my wife and very best friend is Sheline.

I served as a pastor for 17 years.  We have been attending MBC since the autumn of 2022.

I am freshly reminded every day that I need God's amazing and undeserved grace!

His grace and mercies are new every morning!  Great is His faithfulness.

My life verse is Romans 5:8  "For God demonstrated His own love for us in this, that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."  The song of my life is "Amazing grace, how sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me..."
